SimulatorOur online simulator tool can be used, as a guide, to determine the appropriate species and number of trees required for a particular location. It enables the user to upload their own photograph/s of specific location/s, into which they can place trees from our representative, online selection. User can then position and size them accordingly to achieve their desired effect. OUR SIMULATOR DOES NOT HOLD A DIFINITIVE SELECTION OF TREES. IT CONSISTS OF A RANGE OF VARIETIES, SPECIALLY CHOSEN TO BE REPRESENTATIVE OF TREE SHAPES AND COLOURS AVAILABLE. IF YOUR PREFERRED TREE IS NOT INCLUDED, PLEASE USE SOMETHING SIMILAR AS A GUIDE. PLEASE READ THE INSTRUCTIONS BELOW BEFORE LAUNCHING THE SIMULATOR USING THE LINKS AT THE BOTTOM OF THIS PAGE. Upload your own photograph In order to use a background of your choice you must first have a digital image held on one of your computers drives (hard disk, CD-ROM, etc.). Click on the button labeled "Browse" at the bottom of the window the simulator is in. Locate the file you wish to use as your background and click "Open". Click "Upload" at bottom left of simulator window. (Depending on your Internet connection and the size of the file you have chosen there may be a slight delay before your background is uploaded). Important! The image must be no larger than 650 pixels wide by 520 pixels high. File size must be less than 500KB (check the file size by right-clicking on it and selecting "Properties" from the pop-up menu). Files over 500KB will not upload. Add trees to the scene There are 3 operations which must be carried out before you may add a tree to the scene. 1. You must select the type of tree from the drop-down menu labeled "Select Type". 2. Select a genus, within this type, from the drop-down menu labeled "Select Genus". 3. Select a species from this genus from the drop down menu labeled "Select Species". Once the steps above have been performed the button labeled "Add Tree" will be enabled. Click it to add the chosen tree to the scene. Additional trees can be added by repeating the process. Choose trees Before you can manipulate a tree it must be selected. This is done by clicking with your left mouse button on the desired tree. Once a tree has been selected you may manipulate the tree without affecting any of the others in the scene. Move trees Click and hold your left mouse button and drag the tree to the desired location. Scale trees Once a tree has been selected you may adjust its size (useful for creating perspective). Use keyboard up and down cursor keys to scale up and down respectively. Your cursor keys will be located to the right of your return key and have arrows on them. Remove trees Once a tree has been selected it is removed by pressing the shift key (below the return key and has the outline of an upward pointing arrow printed on it). Change the background The simulator has a number of backgrounds that you can use if you do not wish to upload your own. To change the background, click on the drop-down menu labeled "Backgrounds" and choose one from the list. Print your results To print your end result, you will require image capture software. This is available free of charge and can be found by simply typing ‘image capture’ into any search engine. Follow software instructions to obtain a print out.
